Volunteering at The Whiteinch Centre
What volunteering means to us
The Whiteinch Centre believes that volunteering is more than a means of supporting our programmes and services - it is a catalyst for positive change, personal growth, inclusivity and wellbeing, which makes our community a better place to live, work and play.
What we look for in a volunteer
Our volunteers are essential to everything we do.
TWC’s projects are enhanced by volunteer participation. We believe that volunteering also has a significant social value as it is increasingly used as a tool to give excluded individuals the chance to build their confidence and skills through helping others.
Our wider volunteering project aims to address issues in the community through promoting inclusivity and building confidence.
The benefits of volunteering
Volunteering for TWC offers a wide range of benefits from skill development, socialising opportunities, networking, personal fulfillment and making a meaningful impact in the community.
Case study
“The best part of volunteering is seeing the positive impact it has on people. Whether it's someone leaving the IT drop-in feeling more confident using their phone, a gentleman at The Man Club laughing over a card game, or a family at the community shop relieved to get the food they need, these moments make it all worthwhile.
I enjoy meeting new people, hearing their stories, and being part of a welcoming environment where everyone supports one another.
Volunteering at The Whiteinch Centre isn’t just about helping others—it’s also personally fulfilling and a great way to feel connected to the community.”
